The Waterwheel Turban

$135.00

Estimated delivery between April 05 and April 07.

Turban naturally dyed with avocado & cutch.

Inspired by Rumi’s poem “The Waterwheel” from the book Rumi The Book Of Love by Coleman Barks.

In this poem it says “The waterwheel accepts water and turns and gives it away, weeping.” In creating this Turban it is part of a his & hers set where I dyed all four pieces together, showing the way colors & fabric can intermingle & give to each other. Yet at the same time creating resistance to dye where they are tightly woven. Illuminating the space & freedom + sacred union & how together it is a never ending journey of giving, receiving, union, separation.

Features:

  • Naturally dyed with avocado & cutch
  • 100% organic linen fabric
  • Brown organic cotton trim
  • Large for versatile styling & uses.

This turban is part of one of the his & hers sets & pairs with a hooded tunic for him & a hijab & kaftan for her <3

  • Confirmed; baby weary is so cozy in sown of the earth clothing + babies chew on everything, even your clothes & I love knowing when I’m carrying babies that not only are they benefiting from the positive charge of the linen but that it’s also nourishing on their skin & if they chew on my clothes it’s like chewing on flax fibers rather than a bunch of microplastics like most clothes are made out of 🙃

Inshallah I’ll make baby clothes one day too 😘

  • One of my fav pieces from the Desert Breeze collection.

My King.
It has become so clear to me, how the support of the masculine creates infinite space for the feminine to flourish- within & around you. When you & those you love believe in you & your passions it all feels that much more attainable.
Mashallah for these blessings 🤲🏼

  • A Year with Sown Of The Earth

This year began with me taking my shahada, finding deeper devotion in surrender to God

This then influenced the clothing I decided to make - modest devotional wear that inspires one to be in their truth, their form of devotion & to be wrapped in their reminder.

In the beginning of the year, I began to dive in to natural dying to find a way to be in the world of textiles that nourishes the Earth & the wearer.

I learned about the profound impacts of linen on the body, energetically & physically, & was inspired by the ancient use of linen, and so I chose to solely use linen as my medium.

My first line desert breeze was created,
I had my first workshop with earth pigments, launched my website & got to share my passion.

It was a long slow journey from the vision, the understanding of, to the creation of all of it. With many messages received along the way that impacted the creation that would not have come had it been rushed.

This craft continually teaches me to slow down, to nourish, to trust and to surrender to the process.

I close this year in gratitude and awe. It is my prayer that the world of textiles and clothing and fashion continues to make strides towards health, towards honoring the body, your earth, and each other.

I pray that we adorn ourselves in fabrics that nourish us, & that feel incredible on our skin. I pray for a time when we can look at clothing tags, and it’s all natural fibers no matter the store we are in!! Inshallah

Thank you infinitely to those who have been here from the very beginning, it truly has shown me that those who love & surround us -when they support, cheer us on, encourage us, believe in us, and are there every step of the way - Everything and anything is possible.

May this year for you be one where you believe fully in yourself, all in, that you know you are exactly where you’re meant to be. May you always trust in God & where you’re being led.

Allahu Akbar🙏
all praises to The Most High
  • 🌿 Devotion in Every Thread 🌿

Each piece I create is born from a deep sense of devotion—to the earth, to the sacredness of every moment, and to the wearer. These garments are more than just clothing; they are vessels of intention, carefully crafted to remind you of the beauty and divinity in the everyday.

✨ The Sacred in Every Detail
From the softness of organic linen to the rich hues of plant-based dyes, every element is thoughtfully chosen to honor the natural world. The designs—whether flower-stamped, shibori-dyed, or painted with earth pigments—capture the incredible artistry of nature itself. No two pieces are the same, making each garment as unique as the soul who wears it.

✨ A Celebration of Nature’s Gifts
Natural dyes allow us to use the plants, flowers, and minerals around us to create wearable art. Each bloom, leaf, and root leaves its own mark, creating colors and patterns that tell a story of connection to the earth. These techniques showcase the infinite possibilities of working with nature in harmony, rather than against it.

✨ Sustainably Sourced, Intentionally Made
From seed to stitch, sustainability is at the heart of every piece. The linen is organically grown, the dyes are derived from plants, and the process honors the environment at every step. These garments are made slowly, with care and intention, so you can feel the devotion that went into their creation.

✨ Wearable Art for Every Moment
Whether it’s a flower-pounded bandana or a shibori-dyed vest, each piece is designed to be both functional and deeply meaningful. They invite you to move through life with grace, to embrace the sacredness in how you dress, and to celebrate the many ways natural dyes and designs can transform fabric into something extraordinary.

These are more than clothes—they are reminders of the sacred in the everyday and the endless beauty of living in harmony with the earth. 🌍💛

  • 🌿 Beyond Fabric: The Power of Organic Linen + Plant Dyes 🌿

Choosing organic linen is a step toward living in harmony with your body and the earth—but the journey doesn’t stop there. The dyes used on your clothing are just as important as the fabric itself.

Here’s why plant-dyed, organic linen is truly transformational:

✨ Natural Frequencies
Synthetic dyes disrupt the natural vibration of fabrics. While organic linen naturally measures at an incredible 5,000 Hertz, synthetic dyes can lower its frequency, diminishing its nourishing potential. Plant dyes, however, enhance the fabric’s natural energy, allowing you to wear garments that truly resonate with your body’s own vibration.

✨ Gentle on Skin
Synthetic dyes often contain harmful chemicals that can irritate sensitive skin. Plant dyes, on the other hand, are derived from nature and are gentle, making them perfect for anyone with skin sensitivities or allergies.

✨ Eco-Friendly & Sustainable
Plant dyes are biodegradable and free from harmful toxins, meaning they’re kind to the earth. By choosing plant-dyed clothing, you’re reducing environmental pollution caused by synthetic dye processes.

✨ Unique and Alive
Each plant-dyed piece carries the unique vibrancy of the natural world—no two are exactly alike. These dyes feel alive, connecting you to nature’s beauty in a way that synthetic dyes simply can’t replicate.

✨ Wholeness in Every Stitch
When you combine organic linen with plant dyes, you create a synergy that supports your body, uplifts your spirit, and respects the planet. Your clothing becomes a tool for nourishment, not just an item to wear.

There’s a lot of linen and cotton clothing out there, but much of it is dyed with synthetic chemicals that take away from the fabric’s true potential. By choosing organic, plant-dyed pieces, you’re making a conscious decision to wear garments that give back to you. 🌍💛

  • 🌿 The Benefits of Linen: Nature’s Miracle Fabric 🌿

Linen isn’t just a fabric—it’s a gift from nature with incredible benefits for your body and well-being. Here’s why I choose linen for my handmade, naturally dyed garments:

✨ Thermoregulating
Linen keeps you cool in the heat and warm in cooler temperatures, adapting perfectly to your body’s needs.

✨ Antibacterial
Naturally resistant to bacteria, linen helps keep your skin clean and fresh, even during long wear.

✨ Hypoallergenic
For those with sensitive skin or allergies, linen is a dream. Its natural fibers are gentle, soothing, and free of harsh chemicals.

✨ Skin-Friendly
Linen is ideal for people with skin issues like eczema or dermatitis. Its smooth, breathable texture reduces irritation and supports healing.

✨ Durable and Sustainable
Linen grows stronger with time and care, making it an eco-conscious choice that reduces waste. Plus, it’s biodegradable, leaving no harmful impact on the planet.

✨ Breathable and Moisture-Wicking
Linen absorbs moisture without feeling damp, keeping you comfortable and dry throughout the day.

Linen isn’t just clothing—it’s a partner in your journey toward well-being. Choosing linen is a choice to honor your body, care for the earth, and invest in quality that lasts a lifetime. 🌍💛

  • 🌿 The Power of Fabric: Nourishing Body, Soul, and Earth 🌿

It is my passion to create sustainably sourced, high-vibrational fabrics and clothing that not only look beautiful but truly nourish your body, soul, and the earth. Every piece I create is made with the intention of uplifting and supporting your well-being.

✨ Did you know?
The human body measures around 100 Hertz when healthy. Diseased and dying bodies measure as low as 15 Hertz. Here’s the shocking part: polyester, which makes up most of today’s clothing, also measures at 15 Hertz—offering no support for our bodies and even requiring energy to rebalance.

But linen? It measures at an incredible 5,000 Hertz, providing energy to your body and raising your vibration. By choosing natural, high-vibrational fabrics, your body isn’t just clothed—it’s nourished.

The materials you wear hold the power to give back to you, offering balance, harmony, and life-giving energy. Let’s reconnect with clothing that supports the rhythm of your life and the earth. 🌍💛

  • All pieces are crafted with layering in mind. I’ve always been a huge fan of the various ways we can style a piece based on the way we layer it and match it with various colors and different items so this is one of my favorite outfits showing a long sleeve dress with a vest and paired with one of the veils

All of these items are still available from my new desert breeze collection, and you can find them and various other pieces on my shop; link is in my bio.
