Care Instructions
Proper care of your naturally dyed garment will help preserve its rich colors. Over time, the hues may shift & soften, reflecting the living qualities of the plants used in the dyeing process. I encourage you to embrace these shifts as part of the garments unique story and as a reminder of the beauty in transformation we all experience.
1. Gentle Washing
- Turn inside out & Hand wash with cold water to preserve the natural dyes and prevent fading.
- Use a pH-neutral, eco-friendly, natural detergent to maintain the fabric’s integrity and color.
- Please do not wring linen to remove water! Instead, push fabric against the side of the washing bucket, roll in a towel, or put in the washer for a spin cycle to remove excess moisture.
2. Avoid Harsh Chemicals
- Avoid bleach, fabric softeners, and stain removers, as they can alter or damage the natural dye.
- To remove persistent stains, gently rub with soap and water before washing.
3. Air Dry
- Air drying is best to maintain the fabric’s texture and avoid heat damage.
- Hang or lay flat in a shaded area out of direct sunlight, which can fade colors over time.
4. Ironing
- It is best to iron on a low-medium heat setting while the fabric is slightly damp.
- Steam ironing works great with linen!
- Turn fabric inside out when ironing.
- keep the iron moving & do not hold in one place for too long.
5. Storing
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent fading and ensure the longevity of your linen garment.
