My Story & Intention
My intention at Sown Of The Earth is to plant seeds in and of devotion. To honor the craft of slow fashion, creating clothing that is nourishing to one’s body, spirit & the Earth.
It is my prayer at Sown Of The Earth that each stitch inspires confidence in one’s truest expression, and brings each being into remembrance of their truth.
All fabrics you will find at the shop are 100% natural & include mostly linen, cotton, & wool.
In 2020, while staying in a bungalow in Hawaii, I had a realization about the clothing I felt best in–pieces that are long and flowy. Inspired by this sense of ease and beauty, I wanted to share that feeling with others, so I bought my first sewing machine and began creating clothing that embodied this vision.
Over the last few years, I have learned about the impact clothing and the fashion industry have on the environment and our bodies.
This awareness guided me to learn all about natural dyes and the energetics of fabrics. I found that Linen is an immensely healing fabric along with the profound benefits and rich history of natural dyeing.
As I explored this journey more, I realized the challenges of finding clothing crafted with true care and devotion from high-quality, sustainable materials.
This ultimately led to the birth of Sown of the Earth, where I hand-dye and craft organic linen clothing as my specialty, & also take vintage & thrifted natural fiber clothing & dye them as well. (At the in person shop you will also find vintage sweaters of all natural fibers that are not naturally dyed).
Driven by a commitment to sustainability, I set out to design pieces that respect both people and the planet.
I aim to make Sown Of The Earth pieces earthy, unique, elegant and comfortable - crafted with love, reminding all of the sacred within. With devotion in every stitch, I hope each piece is worn as an art form that brings you closer to Truth and inspires you to embrace the journey, wherever it may lead you.
I pray that the studio+shop space I have created is a haven for all to come and enjoy the beauty that community and Northfield have to offer. Stop in and get to know me, watch the creative process, enjoy the view from the porch, or join for some of the classes to learn!!
At the shop you will find a variety of natural fiber goods + plant dyed items. There will be natural dyes for sale, plant dyed yardage for sale, yarn, vintage plant dyed clothing, vintage natural fiber clothing, items that are ready to be dyed, + handmade organic linen clothing that you see on this website <3 All things that honor the earth.
Covered in and of the fabric of love,
Brooke
Why Choose Sown Of The Earth?
My Commitment To You
At Sown Of The Earth I only use high quality ingredients. All garments are made of 100% high grade organic linen & plant dyed with all natural dyes. Even the thread & tags I use are organic cotton. I desire to make clothing that is 100% sustainable & nourishing to ones entire being & the earth.

Siulas Factory
High Quality Organic Linen
The 100% organic linen is sourced from Siulas, one of the oldest linen factories in Europe, founded in 1928. Siulas carries European Flax, premium linen fiber, and is OEKO TEX standard 100 certified organic. Europe is found to be one of the best countries for growing flax due to the unique qualities of the region including their soil and cool climates. Additionally linen production is deeply rooted in this area, contributing to the producer’s knowledge of the craft over thousands of years.
Flax stalks are spread out evenly across a grassy field, where the combination of air, sun and dew causes fermentation, which in turn causes there to not be a need for any pesticides to keep critters away. Leading to a sustainable high quality organic fabric.

Quality Dyes
Natural Plant Dyes
I use natural, sustainable plant dyes to infuse each piece with the beauty of nature. Every garment is dyed by hand in my home studio, where I work with organic materials like flowers, roots, and earth pigments to create unique, soulful colors. This slow, intentional process not only ensures each piece is one of a kind but also reflects my committment to sustainability and respect for the earth.
